There is nothing french about these french salt pastilles, so it is unclear why they are hailed as being French. Maybe they went to Paris on a weekend break once, bought a baguette and enjoyed the sites from top of the Eiffel Tower? Maybe they are all called Jean-Pascal?
Either way, they taste great. Salty liquorice – not too strong, mind you – chewy, enrobed in a sugar shell. Danes in particular love these; it makes them go oh-la-la. Actually, it doesn’t but we were trying to get that French connection back in there. Do you know why they are called French pastilles? Email us. Thanks.
