The recipe for Solo stems from sunny Spain, where the ‘father’ of Solo, Torleif, Gulliksrud, found the recipe and brought it with him back to Norway. Solo quikckly became the most popular drink in the country – and was in the 1960s bigger than Coca Cola. Refreshing and fresh-tasting with a lovely orange flavour – we think it is the best. Enjoy ice cold for any big or small occasion.

Love this Norwegian Orange soft drink. Much better than Fanta

Vi liker alle Solo i familien, hver gang vi handler fra Scandinavian Kitchen er denne på lista, ingenting smaker så godt.

The single greatest soft drink man has ever been blessed to taste. Some say a Norwegian man got the recipe, or at least the idea for the recipe, while he was visiting Spain. Now I am far from religious, but the only way I can think of that a man could create a drink that tastes as good as Solo, is if the recipe was handed down to him by the Gods themselves.
I moved from Norway to Scotland 11 years ago and there are three things that bring me back to visit. Family, snus and Solo. And please don’t tell my family, but those reasons are not listed in order of importance.
Don’t ever let anyone tell you this is like Fanta or any other Orange flavoured fizzy drink. They are liars and should be prosecuted for slander, and if they’re in a country that has blasphemy laws, they should be prosecuted for that too. Solo is refreshing, it is invigorating, it makes you feel like the sun is shining down and bestowing a blessing on your body and your tastebuds. But even better than that, it actually quenches your thirst, unlike the vast majority of other fizzy drinks. I cannot speak highly enough of this drink, so I will just say it that if you, like me, hate cold weather, Solo is the only think that makes it worth living in Norway during the winter. I have bought more crates of Solo from Scandikitchen than I’d care to admit amd it was worth every penny. Buy it, drink it, and experience a truly unique and transformative taste explosion.
