Julebrus – Norwegian Christmas soda.
Julebrus – what is it? Literally, it means Christmas Bubbles. A lot of Nordic countries has their own Christmas drink – and in Norway, this is known as Julebrus.
There are a lot of different version on the market – many of them regional flavours and varieties and people often have their particular favourite. At ScandiKitchen we stock two kinds:
Lerum Julebrus – fizzy raspberry flavoured soda
Hamar julebrus – Fruit and cola flavoured aka Champagnebrus flavour (its hard to give an exact taste of this one, but that’s the closest we could agree on – it is one of those magic childhood flavours from a time when flavours didn’t need to mean anything).
Julebrus are sold in Norway from October until New Year in Norway. We stock then at ScandiKitchen whilst stocks last – usually from October until early to mid December.
