Like her viking ancestors before her, Brontë Aurell left Denmark to explore the world beyond home shores and in her travels has come to understand the fascination with her kinfolk, as well as seeing the idiosyncrasies of the Scandinavian lifestyle that locals take for granted.
Whether you want your apartment to look like it belongs in Copenhagen, to workout like a Norwegian or to make cinnamon buns like a Swede, this is the ultimate insider’s guide to the countries of the north. Full of inspiration and ideas, how-tos and recipes to help you experience the very best of Scandinavian design, philosophy, cookery and culture. With a signature wit and a keen eye for detail, travel alongside Brontë through fjords and mountains, farmlands and cities to better understand these three nations and what makes each one so unique.
So get outdoors, learn the life lesson that there’s no such thing as bad weather (only bad clothing) and you may discover your inner Scandi sooner than you think.

Hi,
I have Bronte’s EXCELLENT book “North”.
I can very HIGHLY recommend you buy this brilliant insight into Scandinavian life. You will find yourself reading it over and over again, or just going back over the various chapters.
It tells you every single thing you will need to know about living the “Scandi way” from quite serious info about money, education and housing, to really funny facts about how to stand in line for public transport (the odd things that Scandi folks do).
Bronte tells you all about customs and habits adhered to, festivals and all about Lagom, Hygge and fykke and how to be cosy and comfy on cold autumn/winter evenings etc.
There is so much contained in this wonderful book, fantastic recipes for delicious food too (ingredients that you can easily obtain from Scandikitchen) even tells you about the wonderful family life (yes, even the guys push the buggy’s with the children in) and about the cafe culture.
I got my copy of “North” as a gift from a friend, it has truly opened my eyes to the beauty of Scandinavian life. Don’t miss out, treat yourself or a friend to this great book, sit around a lovely warm fire with a coffee and educate yourself whilst relaxing. Go on I dare you!!!
