Cloudberries are often called Arctic gold – both because of their colour, the fact that they are rare and impossible to cultivate, and because of their unique taste. They taste unlike anything else – rich and sweet, tart and spicy all at once. Delicious. You can have it on toast – but due to its rarity it is usually enjoyed as part of dessert. Serve on a waffle with vanilla ice cream, try it with whipped cream and almond biscuits for a luxurious dessert, or simply with a mature cheese such as Västerbotten.
