Scandinavian Food

When people hear "Scandinavia" they say, 'what, like herring and stuff?'

Well yes - sort of. Even if it doesn't represent the entire culinary repertoire of Scandinavia, it is hard to deny that herring is a good fish. There's plenty of herring around too, so there's no risk we're going to run out of it anytime soon. It is packed with nutrients, contains Omega 3 and is loaded with Vitamin D. Scandinavians like to pickle it in almost anything - and we stock lots of different kinds of herrings at Scandinavian Kitchen.

The herring is pickled in a wide variety of ways: from the original marinade with vinegar, onions, sugar and cloves to the more subtle mustard sauce which gives the herring a mild mustard flavour (senapssill). You can also go for spicy marinades or even curry marinades. There's a herring for every taste.

If you don't fancy herring - don't worry, we got some of the tastiest prawns around to tempt you - not to mention the cured and smoked salmon, rare roasted beef, both Swedish and Danish meatballs. The list goes on.
