Leksands Brungraddat – Brown Baked Crispbread 200g: has a darker colour and a richer flavour than the original since it’s been baked for longer. A Swedish classic – try it with sliced boiled egg and Kalles Kaviar. Or, if creamed smoked cod roe doesn’t float your boat (but why wouldn’t it?) it is also great with cheese – see our full selection of Scandi cheeses here.
Dark rye crispbread from Leksands, baked slightly longer to further develop the flavours. It has a darker colour and a richer flavour than the original since it’s been in the oven a for an additional few minutes.
It is a Swedish classic and a favourite in the ScandiKitchen office – we often munch it with Bregott (salted butter) and cheese, sliced egg and Kalles Kaviar or mackarel in salsa – it’s yummy with most things really!
Leksands is one of our favourite Swedish producers, when Jakobs Karin was born in a small town on the outskirts of Leksand. She started making crispbread just a stone’s throw from where the bakery is located today, and sold it to other nearby farms and the Leksands tourist centre. Leksands bakery thus has a rich history dating all the way back to 1817. Their range has naturally changed through the times, but a common denominator is the high quality and excellent flavour.
