We recommend about 3 pieces for a normal lunch – 5 pieces if you are starving or want to share.We have 2-3 special guest Open Sandwiches on the menu every week in addition to the list below to ensure there's always plenty of choice for everyone.

Scandinavian Kitchen also serve a selection of rolls, wraps and salad/platters - as well as a scrumtious selection of breakfast stuff: from freshly baked rolls, in-house baked Danish pastries to cereals and damn fine coffee.

Fish and Seafood

Prawn and Egg A heap of prawns and sliced egg served on freshly baked white sourdough bread with lettuce, tomato and a bit of light mayonnaise and lemon.  

Smoked salmon Tender slices of smoked salmon on white sourdough served with lettuce, ‘kaviar’ and lemon.

Gravad lax Slices of cured salmon on sourdough, lots of dill and smooth mustard sauce. Oh, and some lemon.

Hot smoked salmon - Served on sourdough bread with a tangy creme fraiche and dill dressing

Scandinavian Prawn Star
The ultimate prawn sandwich for really hungry people – a mound of Scandinavian prawns, hard boiled egg on a light sourdough bread with green stuff, lemon and light mayo. £7.50 - not part of box-deal - made to order

Choose between a range of delicious pickled herring from Denmark and Sweden.  Served  with rye or crisp bread. £1.60*

The staples:
Løgsild – Pickled with onion, cloves and pepper.  A solid Danish choice.
Senapssill – Mustard, the favourite choice for Swedes and ideal for beginners.

We always have a range of special guest herrings on the menu - check in store for what’s on today. Herring is what we do - from curried to madeira to dill flavours. The world is our..eh, herring.
